Final Project: Visual Narative (story)

My Visual Narrative (story) assignment
"Gods Creation"

For my final project I chose my theme to be “God’s Creation,” for my visual narrative (story) assignment. I am a very religious person and love to read my Bible, so I chose to use a story from the Bible and base my images off the meanings of the story. The story I choose in the Bible was from the Old Testament in Genesis chapter 1:1-31. All four images I produced on Photoshop were based off Gods creation. I took pictures around my neighborhood. I took the picture of the lion at the zoo. I took a picture of my bible and porcelain Angel then took my daughters head and made her one of Gods Angels. I used the curves and texture toolbars a lot with this project. I cropped and resized some of my images. I duplicated my butterflies in one of my photos. My visual narrative showed how God created the earth and the Heavens with his Hands. One of my photos showed how he created what’s on the earth, the animals and the plants. Also one showed how God created the Bible and the Heavenly Angels. I really had a lot of fun with this program. I learned a lot of things about digital imaging that I never new about. This is a program I plan to continue using in the future because I had a lot of fun with and learned how to do things I never thought I could do.

Week 5 assignment: Fortuna/Loteria

For this weeks assignment (week 5 Fortune/Loteria) I created two versions of a highly symbolic artwork based on the concept of Fortuna. I chose to use biblical symbols to represent the meanings to my two pieces of digital artwork. In the first picture shown above I used a cross watt knott and a picture of praying hands and I scanned in a coin that had mary and joseph holding baby jesus For the background of the first picture I used my arched built in table wall to make the images flow alot better. I used the sand grain texture and played around with the curves tool bars and changed the colors slightly. I made some image size adjustments to make it work as well. After getting feedback from my peers, I took out the text I had in the picture and moved the cross around to make the picture stand out more.
The second photo (the bottom photo) I decided to keep my theme the same. I took a picture of my bible and scaned in my cross neckalace. I took a picture of a little girl praying and looking up as if she's looking up to the heavens as she's talking to God. I found a picture of the earth on the internet and chose to add the under the picture with my bible opened up. I distorted the images a little and used the the warp tool bar. I also used the curves tool bar, which is one of my favorite tools to use on photoshop. With feed back from my class peers I changed the texture of the little girl so that it would fow much better.
Overall with both of these pictures I wanted it to represent goodness in life through putting all your faith in God. Reading your Bible praying and understanding the cross all is Fortuna leading to happiness and eternal life with God which is good.

Week 4 assignment: "Surreal Landscape"

I choose to do a surreal landscape for both of my pictures on this weeks weekly assignment (week 4 project. I shot pictures around my neighborhood to complete my project on this topic of nature. I did a little bit of different stuff to these photos that I didn't do in my other previous photo assignments. I used some new tools in photoshop that I learned through exploring and playing around with the program. I added layers of pictures into the main background by using shapes and I also used the magic eraser to blend in my pictures. I continued to use the curves tool bar to change up my image colors. The first photo I placed a fence into the picture to make it and changed the color of it and I used the tool bar to change the texture to a sand type texture. I liked taking my neighbors home and placing it into another yard as if it was really suppose to be there for real. I rotated some of my layers to make them fit in better. I scaled down my items and just had fun with the assignment.  The second photo I used the black and white color tool bar to make the layers blend in better so that you could see everything. It was way too bright and colorful so I had to do a lot of readjusting to the colors to make the picture work out the way I wanted to.

Week 3 Assignment: Word Play

For this weeks assignment (week 3) we were assigned to pick a vocabulary word either in a dictionary or thesauras and use the synonym and antonym as the word describing our pictures. My word that I choose to come up with synonyn and antonym was "Happiness." The synonym I choose was "blessedness," representing the top photo and the antonym I choose describing the bottom picture was "gloom."
The picture at the top was filled with pictures that represent blessedness. The bottom photo had about 10 layers and was filled with images that represent gloom, which to me, I took that word as meaning of sadness. I used about 7-8 different layers in the top picture. I used the the quick selection tool bar alot with my images. I played around with the color selection tools and the black and white. I used curves alot because I really liked how it made my images come together in my photos. I used the rotate tool bar to rotate my images to a direction that made my images stand out. I added my text and in the photos and then arched them to make them not look so plain. I scaled down my layers within the background and just had a lot of fun with learning the different tools on adobe photo shop

Assignment 2: Fortune Cookie

Use your talents. That's what they are intended for............
My fortune cookie that I choose was: Use your talents. That's what they are intended for... for my week 2 assignment. I used 6 different layers in these two different photo images. I took pictures of things around my house that would work just perfectly for this theme. Since my fortune was based on inner talent I choose to be creative with it and do something I thought I could never possibly do. After completing my works of picture art, it showed how much talent and creativity I truly possess within me. I added my daughter in the first picture which made the photo work out very well. I did multiple layers of the same images and played around with the curves tool bar alot. I took my original images and used the magic tool brush and also used the lasso tool bar and several other tools to make my pictures turn out the way they did. I'm very proud of my work although it was difficault and challenging. As I worked more and more on it I ended up getting the pictures the way I wanted them to be. I'm looking forward to the next project so that I can Continue to impove on my skills. This fortune cookie allowed me to do whatever with my pictures to show true talent!!

Heavenly Images Weekly assignment 1

I took five different images that I shoot at home and did my own creativity with the images and putting them all together as if it was one beautiful image. I changed the colors up by using the curves adjustment tool bar. I cut the individual pictures of the butterfly and flowers to surround my daughter. It reminds me of happiness and beauty. I choose these images because they all went together to make this image stand out. I mainly just played around with the tool bars today to see what I could do with my images. I feel real good about what I created and plan to get more creative each time I play around with photoshop.

Day 2 class practice activity image

Doing this was a little difficult for me but with more practice I will get better at doing it.
